Pharo Diagnostic Centre, Assosa

The Pharo Diagnostic Centre (PDC), Assosa is a premier medical facility run by The Pharo Foundation in Ethiopia, which is the first of its kind in the Benishangul-Gumuz Regional State (BGRS). It commenced operations in June 2022 and is providing quality healthcare services.

The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratory equipment and highly trained personnel which enable us to offer numerous tests many of which are not offered in any other facility in the region. These tests including haematology, microbiology, clinical chemistry, immunology, serology, and molecular biology. The PDC offers quality assurance processes and advanced technology.

Ensuring access to good quality healthcare for over 104 million Ethiopians remains a key priority for its government and development partners. Diagnostic capabilities in most hospitals still remain a challenge. The Pharo Diagnostic Centre is contributing to the overall enhancement of the diagnostic capacity in BGRS. The PDC’s objective is to increase access to quality and affordable health care in Ethiopia, and beyond.
