Where We Work
Pharo Foundation works in the Horn of Africa, implementing its programmes in Ethiopia, Somaliland, Rwanda, and Kenya which also serves as the regional hub. The countries’ needs are diverse, but our goal is to help improve people’s livelihoods emphasising economic self-reliance, sustainability and job creation.
Our focus is on empowering communities and countries through investment in people and infrastructure.

Ethiopia
Pharo Foundation’s country office is in Addis Ababa. The Foundation implements its programmes in the Benishangul Gumuz regional state (BGRS) and has an office in Assosa.

Kenya
The Foundation opened its operational headquarters in Nairobi, in January 2020. As of 2020, Kenya is the third largest economy in sub-Saharan Africa after Nigeria and South Africa Kenya is a lower-middle-income economy.

Rwanda
The Foundation opened its Rwanda office in May 2021. Rwanda’s economy is one of the fastest growing in comparison to other countries in the region. The economy is based mostly on subsistence agriculture.

Somaliland
Pharo Foundation’s office in Somaliland is in Hargeisa. The Foundation’s programme in Somaliland focuses on agriculture, water, education, and health.
