Bethel Tsegaye is the Head of Pharo Ventures, Ethiopia.

Prior to this role, Bethel worked for various funds and venture builders focusing on Africa. She has over 15 years experience having worked in various private sector organisations in different parts of the world. Bethel has extensive experience investing in early stage ventures in sectors including Agribusiness, Fintech, Health care and Manufacturing.

She holds an MBA in Strategic Management from University of Plymouth and a BSc in Management from University of Greenwich.

Bethel enjoys traveling, is interested in history and psychology, and enjoys an occasional jog whenever she gets a break from her 2 young boys.

Mohamed Farah Osman is the Head of Pharo Ventures, Somaliland.

Mohamed has vast experience in project management working in both the UK and Somaliland in the field of Civil & Hydraulic Engineering. He has worked in various sectors and with organisations such as USAID, Ernst & Young (EY) UK, UN-Habitat, AECOM UK, and The British International School, Somaliland.

Prior to this role, Mohamed was a director and project coordinator at CES Consulting Engineers Salzgitter GmbH, Somaliland.

His educational background is in Project Management. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Glamorgan University, UK.

Mohamed likes to take long scenic walks, read books and magazines of different genres.

Julie is the Chief Financial Officer of Pharo Ventures.

Prior to this role, Julie has served in various leadership and advisory positions for 17 years across the financial services and international development sectors in Kenya, the Cayman Islands and USA.

She holds a Bachelor degree in Business & Management from Egerton University, Kenya and is currently pursuing her Executive MBA at the Strathmore University Business School. She is also a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K).

Julie gets energised by upskilling and mentoring young people also enjoys travelling, reading and listening to music.

Sarah Buyaki is the Chief Human Resources Officer of Pharo Ventures.

Prior to her role at Pharo Ventures, Sarah has been serving in different sectors for over 14 years working with top-level management in structuring, managing, developing, and implementing HR strategies.

Sarah holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Africa Nazarene University and a Diploma in Human Resources from the Kenya Institute of Management. She is a Certified Pension trustee, a member of the Institute of Human Resource Management and a member of the Women on Boards Network.

Sarah likes to travel and explore different cuisines in her free time.
